The girls first met in 2021, not in a design school or creative agency, but in an acting class in a place entirely unrelated to design.
The day after their first meeting, Anastasiia invited Karyna for coffee and a contemporary art exhibition. The evening ended in a bar, talking about acting dreams, but three years later, a design studio appeared instead. Oops. :)
Anastasiia studied Graphic Design in Kyiv and began working professionally even before entering university. She now has nearly 10 years of experience in the field.
Karyna graduated with a degree in Fine Arts in Poltava and has worked as a graphic designer since then, with 8 years of experience to date.
Before founding their own studio, the two worked both independently and together across Kyiv, Toronto and now New York, where they are currently based.
At PigRat, the team approaches every project with care and intention, while valuing collaboration, curiosity and a buddies vibe.
